AT&T – iPhone Users Should Pay More
Yesterday, I received an email about AT&T’s new Navigator App. It looks pretty cool, but I have a problem with it. AT&T wants to charge $10 a month for the service. Why do I need to pay more when I already pay $30 a month for the data plan? That should cover it. AT&T is being guided down the wrong path with the pricing and fees. The iPhone is a great phone, but with competitors producing comparable phones for other carriers, who will stay with AT&T? I for one will not pay a $30 premium on AT&T for the iPhone when the Palm Pre,an Android, or Microsoft (maybe in the next 10 years Microsoft will get there) based phone on Sprint or T-Mobile does the same thing. By the way, I do like my iPhone. It is the best phone and mobile computer I have ever had.
I have included a copy of the email below. If you look at the bottom, which is in small font when you get the email, it says:
“Coverage not available in all areas. Not available for use on prepaid plans. Service availability, timeliness or accuracy of location is not guaranteed.”
Why would I pay for something when I can not depend on it when I probably need it most, in the middle of nowhere. What do you think?
