Big Brother Voice, I Mean Google Voice

Google is the king of the web.  Not many people will argue that except maybe Facebook who is giving Google a run for their money.  Google now is getting ready to release Voice to the world.  I started a while back, cutting my use of Google (more details on why).  They have too much information nowadays. Windows 7 Dollars and Cents

box_pro_upgrade You can pre-order a copy of Microsoft Windows 7 on June 26th through July 11th.  As many of use have suspected, there are different versions with different prices.  I wish there was only one version.  It would make so many things easier, like pricing, support, and developing programs.

But I digress.  Here is the breakdown on pricing if you wait till the October 22 release: Continue reading Windows 7 Dollars and Cents

SharePoint’s ‘This Site’ Search Broken and Fixed

moss This story will include a lot of suspense and intrigue.  It will have plot twists and turns.  It will best anything that Tom Clancy even thought about.

Maybe not, but it might make your life as a Microsoft SharePoint admin a little easier.

To begin, SharePoint would run a search just fine when you searched ‘All Sites’.  If you tried to do a search on ‘This site’ or ‘This list’, it would not return any results.  I tried numerous things to get it to work right, but it came down to one easy solution, setting the URL in the Alternate Access Mappings. Windows Live Photo Gallery – Import

Windows Live Photo Gallery has some nice import options that I thought were worth talking about.  If you can’t tell, I really like the program.

To get to the import options go to  “file” – “Options”.  Next, click on the “Import” tab.  Now you can see the import settings.

The first thing to do is choose what . . . → Read More: Windows Live Photo Gallery – Import

Photo and Video Organizer – Windows Live Photo Gallery

I do not work for Microsoft.  I just use their products a lot, not always by choice.

I have found Windows Live Photo Gallery to be a good product from Microsoft.

Things I like:

Organize photos and videos in folders on your computer, not in some proprietary file system or database that I cannot access any other ways.

iPhone OS Upgrade 3 on June 17th

I am stoked.  The OS version 3 is a long time over due.  I am ready to start receiving MMS again, being able to copy and paste, and having the landscape keyboard in more areas.

Here are some of the new features that Apple says are coming:

Cut, Copy, Paste and Landscape Keyboard
Cut, Copy & Paste

Quickly and easily cut, copy, and paste text from application to application. Select entire blocks of web text with a tap. Copy and paste images from the web, too.

Landscape Keyboard

Want more room to type? Rotate iPhone to landscape to use a larger keyboard in Mail, Messages, Notes, and Safari. Continue reading iPhone OS Upgrade 3 on June 17th
